Whistler Centenary Conference

In September 2003, the Centre for Whistler Studies hosted an international conference over two and a half days to mark the online publication of Whistler's correspondence. The very successful conference was attended by delegates from the UK, Holland, Germany, France, Japan and the USA. Papers explored aspects of the correspondence, Whistler's studio practice and his relationship with artists and artistic movements. Delegates were able to browse the correspondence for themselves from PC terminals during the conference and enjoy the various Whistler festivities at the University and elsewhere in the city.
