My dear Mr O Kennedy!
I have sent you today, by this post, the signed proofs - which Mr Whistler thinks are very fine ones, You see that he has marked some, too, on the back,
He says - you must never think [p. 2] it is any trouble for him to sign proofs for you - and if he does not write you are not to think he has forgotten, but - you know - how things are with him! In the meantime I am writing for him!
What do you think of the latest *Paris news?
'Alluding to Carnot's assassination
Nobody [p. 3] here seems to mind, The Fête at Neuilly is closed it is true - and Jimmie's model Carmen has discarded her Italian dress - but with those exceptions things are just the same!!
Let us hear all your Irish news.
With kindest regards from us all -
