Sales catalogue, Sotheby's, London, 12-13 December 1977 (lot 233). The sales catalogue describes this lot as one of "Four A.L.s.s. (two in full) and a printed invitation completed and signed (with butterfly) by Whistler, 7 pages, 4to and oblong 8vo, Chelsea and Society of Artists, undated" (see #09361, #10551). An envelope was included in the lot. The original documents have not been located. The printed card is transcribed at #13155; the handwritten text only is here.
