1. 10 [March 1866?]
In September 1865, JW and his brother William escorted Anna Matilda Whistler (1804-1881), née McNeill, JW's mother [more], to an optician in Coblenz. It is possible JW was then also in Mainz. This is probably the bill dated 10 March 1866, mentioned in their account of 10 July 1878 (#08934), and in JW's bankruptcy records in May 1879 (see #11926). The bill shows JW's taste for good white wine.
