The enclosed[3] is simply amazing!!! - Has he not executed himself gracefully! Send me back the letter

Now about things - You are quite right about Vulliamy[4] - I dont propose that a line should be sent to him before everything is ready - but then it would I think be much better if you could see him and make the appointment with him than any writings - Say nothing about me at all in any case - Leave me quite out - and go only on the fact that he has been nice with you and because of his sympathy [p. 2] with you, you wish him to come down with you and enjoy what you have done - and then drive him down in a hansom then and there! if possible - Point out to him how at last the whole facade[5] has been altered to new approved drawing - say that of course it has been only by your own skill that you have been able to get on with this difficult job - and then say that now that is so near it's completion you beg Vulliamy to approve it and grant the lease for your sake in order that the building may be at once finished in conformity with the drawing (for the Webb[6] people will not give any more money until they hold the lease) and redound to your credit - which might be damaged by any hitch - The whole thing not at all for Whistler in any way - but entirely a matter of professional courtesy between you two -

I am going to send you an etching[7] with my kindest regards to both[8] & hopes that you are better -

Ever Yrs

You have[9] never thought of the bell handle to the front door - I don't like this sort of thing [drawing of handle[10]] !!! -
