Notes:

1.  [28 March/4 April 1888]
Dated from related correspondence published in the Pall Mall Gazette (#10936, #10937). However, this note is associated in John Rylands Library with a copy of an earlier letter from JW to the press, #13200. It is therefore possible that it dates from earlier in 1888.

2.  Marion Henry Spielmann
Marion Henry Alexander Spielmann (1858-1948), journalist and writer on art [more]. This letter probably relates to a similar note written by JW to Spielmann (see #10936). JW apparently enclosed it with a press-cutting of a letter to the editor of the Pall Mall Gazette concerning a prematurely published review of his 'Ten O'Clock' Lecture.

3.  ALS
#03763 and #13280 may be a draft and copy or variant of this note.
