This is the last Will & Testament of me Anna Matilda Whistler at the day of the date hereof residing at of No. 2 Lindsey Row Chelsea in the Co[unt]y of Midd[les]ex in England Widow I devise & bequeath all the real & personal est[at]e to which I shall be entitled at the time of my decease unto my Sons James Abbott McNiell [sic] Whistler & William Gibbs McNiell [sic] Whistler[3] absolutely share & share alike And I appoint the s[ai]d Jas Abbott McNeill Whistler & Wm Gibbs McNeill Whistler Ex[ecut]ors of this my will hereby revoking all other Testamentary Writings In witness whereof I have hereunder set my hand this 17th day of June in the year of Our Lord 1867. This draft of Anna Whistler's will was prepared by James Anderson Rose (1819-1890), solicitor [more]. On 14 June 1867 she had written to Rose requesting 'a sort of temporary will' to be drafted before she began travelling (see #12216).
