Dear Mrs Waller

I shall be charmed to come on Friday - and many thanks for your kind invitation -

It was very nice of you to call today - and I had hoped that you would have come in on your way back, that I might have shown you some [p. 2] new etchings I was just printing -

Ridley[3] had told me that I was to see you on Saturday and he promised to say from me that this week I should have to devote myself to my other work and have to put off the delight of painting the pretty Maud[4] - for it is a delight -

However I hope still that I may snatch a day even this week - and will write at once and beg you to come -

Always sincerely Yours

J. McN. Whistler
