TELEGRAMS, - BOUSSOD, LONDON.
London
7 April 1892.
Dear Sir,
Pictures. Will you kindly let us know by Monday morning at the very latest[2] what you wish us to do with the pictures. If you will kindly take the extra Catalogue[s] we send to day (there are 3 in all) & mark definitely against each any instructions you may have. We propose to commence returning them at once unless you wish otherwise. [p. 2] We cannot keep them above a day or two for Easter is at hand & the insurances will soon run out. Please therefore let us have this & much oblige.
Photographs. We should like to decide about the 'Whistler Album[3]' as soon as you can. We have put up a notice in the Gallery about the contemplated publication & people are asking questions, prices &c.
We have now received permissions for all except the following, Mdm Reveillon[4], Albert Moore[5], Glasgow Corporation[6], Orchar[7], Leathart[8], Gallimard[9] & Potter[10]. As there are reasons of absence connected with [p. 3] Reveillon, Moore, Gallimard, Orchar & Glasgow we are making photographs of those as we know they will come in a day or two - This leaves only Leathart & Potter (not so bad after all?) & we have learned Potter has gone North so his consent may come tomorrow too - Leathart we are writing to very specially & as we shall look on this as quite a small triumph for our way of doing business you may be sure we shall try hard for this too! - Graves[11] will ask a royalty on both the R. Corder[12] & Carlyle[13] but this does not mean much [p. 4] & we can arrange it satisfactorily. Please note however that we have said to each proprietor that if the consent were given a copy of the complete publication would be sent in due course[.] This is usual.
Paris Exhibition. We have rather upset our Paris people by hinting at the idea to have your exhibition at Rue de Seze[14]. They think that they shd have it themselves. You might go & see Joyant[15] once more & try to settle for Rue Chaptal or abandon the idea altogether. Had we only been able to sell some here our Paris friends would have looked on it differently -
We had 40 last night & about 350 to day.
Yours vy truly
