Dear Sir -
I have received your two letters announcing the arrival of the photographs - but here we are the 4th of July and nothing has yet appeared -
I will sign them all for you immediately they come -
Dont you think by the way that you might just as well get me a full cheque [p. 2] now for the remainder of the 100
proofs sets so that in some way I could benefit by the proceeding - instead of doling it out in small sums? -
As far as your people are concerned it comes to the same thing for I will sign the sets as you send them - and it is the only way in which it would pay me my share in the trouble -
I will attend to the pastel directly -
I cannot help what Mr Muir is sure of - but there are certainly some touches on the drawing that are not as I left them - Whether this be from the accident of the broken glass or no - is more than I can really be absolutely positive about, without further examination -
The Album ought to do exceedingly well - judging from the way it is asked for here - Why dont you let them have some copies on the Boulevard?
Very sincerely yours
J McN Whistler
