My dear Huish -

What is the hitch in the matter of Mr Carter's[3] draft upon you? He told me that I had but to send it down to Bond Street and it would be paid immediately, because you have some money of his in hand -

Of course I wouldn't trouble you about it at all, only I believe he is going off in a day or two, and so I think you had better, (if it were a question of long delays and board meetings, now that all the Directors are out of town, doubtless) give me back the order and I can return it [to] Mr Carter and ask him for a simple cheque instead -
