Dec 14 1886

Dear Mr Whistler,

I enclose the extract from [co?] Carlotta's[2] letter - please send me the letter required and I will arrange the matter -

Your secretary[3] who called today did not seem to know whether you had made an appointment with Mr Lewis[4] or not - He merely mentioned Thursday vaguely but no hour. [p. 2] Please send me a line about this as it is so much clearer than a verbal message.

sincerely yrs

Helen Lenoir

P. S. Have you arranged with the British Artists' secretary[5] to call on Mr Lewis? That should be done and everything be cut[6] and dried[7] before our appointment
