You are very well placed here - and very well thought of -

You must doubtless by now have received a letter from Aleco - he promised me he would write to you - and I believe he intends to send you 20 pounds - He is very happy to own your portrait -

I have received a charming letter from Burger [p. 2] that Manet sent me. Thank Manet on my behalf -

Have you been kind enough to give the etching to Chesneau? and Villot?

So write me a note. And the newspapers? and the medals?
