Dec 9 1897

My dear friend,

Mr. Vanderbilt[2] sailed on Wednesday, previously insuring his life for $1,000,000 00/100.

Before this reaches you he may have seen you[3].

Boldini[4] is here. I sent you the Post. I haven't seen any of the others yet - that is the papers. Business dull. Is there no chance of waking things up by a Whistler [p. 2] Show?

With best regards to all
I am in haste but as Ever
Sincerely

O.'K.

Please return letter Enclosed[5]
