FINE ARTS BUILDING
CHICAGO

SECRETARYS OFFICE
217 LA SALLE ST.

August 3. 1900

My dear Sir.

I have before me your note[2] of the 21 st ult addressed to our Secretary[3], and beg to assure you that it is not the desire of our Club to do anything which would be contrary to your wishes.

I trust however that since writing you have received the communication with enclosures which Mr Hutchinson[4] left at your Paris address. From these you will learn that our purpose was to produce a handbook of your [p. 2] Etchings owned largely by our members, which would for all time be a work of reference and under our auspices a creditable publication

In order that you may be fully advised as to aims of our Club, I have directed that a copy of our last Year Book be mailed to your London address

Trusting that upon further consideration we may be favored with your approval

I remain
Your most obedient servant

Geo. Merryweather

President
