My dear Major -
Your note seemed to me rather like they say of my own etchings, "Not
[one line?] an unnecessary line"! I may have expected more - but after all in the case of the etchings I know the comment was meant as praise. -
I propose to send Constant by Wednesday [p. 2] or Thursday nights boat -
and will bring him back directly after the New Year. -
Now is there any thing my dear Major you wish me to do to please you? -
