It is all right Major about the book - found it in one of the drawers of writing place -
Now I want Bunnie to send me what she promised and has forgotten - that is just the roughest note of the order in which Trixie wore her garnets - I may not need it - but I think I should like to have it to go to Dickers with - so that I can start with some notion of [p. 2] how they were - even if I arrange them myself -
I have seen Dicker before now - and it is agreed that we shall go over them together when I am ready to begin -
Bunnie might send it by tomorrows post -
I have been having a blue railing and treliss [sic] work put for my dear Trixie - and I am sad - always sad sad! - and only stay - that when I step inside the railing I may not have left undone what she knew might be done! - But its all mad!! and ridiculous! as Trixie
well knows! The idea of a railing being over either of us and both of us! & in this God forsaken abominable land!! - -

Beatrix, and later JW, were buried in Chiswick cemetery. The grave was later marked by a monument designed by Edward Godwin (b. 1876), son of Beatrix and E. W. Godwin; JW's step-son [more]. This has been repeatedly vandalised although frequently restored.
