Anvers

10 Avril 1890.

Cher Monsieur

Vve. Kohler[5] m'a prié de vous transmettre.

Agréez Cher Monsieur, l'assurance de mes sentiments dévoués

Alb Maeterlinck

Ann.

M. Whistler.

Translation:

Dear Sir

I have received the copy of the "Sunday Times" containing an article on the Sheridan Ford matter. - The proceedings against the latter have not significantly progressed recently because the prosecuting magistrate has sent a commission to his colleague in Paris to interrogate the culprit. We await the result of this action, & I shall take care to inform you of the arguments adopted by Mr Sheridan Ford in his defence.

I enclose the invoice for the confiscated booklets, which the widow Mrs Kohler has asked me to pass on to you.

Yours faithfully

Alb Maeterlinck

Enc.

Mr Whistler.
