110. Rue du Bac - Paris -

Dear Mr Reid -

I suppose things are pretty bad just now - However - about the lithographs never mind - you know I always send you up the new proof whatever it may be - so thats all right - Only now I want you to send these back to me here - for I am being asked for them - they are wanted at once[4] and it is such a deuce of a bother waiting while [p. 2] they are being printed - and I am out of the first lot -

As to the studio - Yes there are plenty of things going on there! and some perhaps what you may mean by "important" - Still I dont know - What do you want? and what would you propose about "The Little White Girl[5]", now that things are bad! - The owner[6] you know wants a jolly good price - or he might have sold the picture to the Munich Gallery[7] -

I am glad the 3 pictures are in Philadelphia[8] - and, as you say, I should think one at least ought to stay there - Dont you know any body over there? -

With kindest regards
Faithfully

J McN Whistler

Don't roll the proofs - but send them nice & flat as I did -
