21, CHEYNE WALK,
March 25. 1890.
I send enclosed cuttings from the Pall Mall Gazette and the New York Herald, which I hope you will be pleased with -
I thought that perhaps you would prefer your name being kept out of the papers - and so begged that it might not appear.
Now I should be greatly pleased if your son would be so amiable as to sit down and write me a little letter, giving me a full description of Master Ford's appearance and behaviour when the seizure was made known to him! [p. 2] I should so much have liked to have seen his face! -
It must have been most interesting! -
I hope Mr Kohler will forget no detail in his description of the scene -
I am afraid that this desperate little Yankee adventurer must be a shocking bad lot - and I am sorry you should have been disturbed by him. -
When I cross over to Belgium again, I shall certainly do myself the pleasure of calling [p. 3] upon you - and meanwhile I beg that you will present my compliments to your daughters, and accept, for yourself and your sons, my best thanks for your kindness -
Very faithfully Yours
J. McNeill Whistler
