Envelope:

Mrs. Maxse.
15 Alexander Square
Fulham Road

Notes:

1.  [1887/June 1888]
The letter has no stamp or postmark and was probably delivered by hand; indeed it is not absolutely certain that it belongs to this letter and not to others written to Mrs Maxse, such as #13641. It is dated from the reference to 'President': JW was elected President of the Society of British Artists on 1 June 1886 and took office in December. He was forced to resign on 4 June 1888 but retained the post until November.

2.  Mrs Maxse
Mrs Maxse, a Chelsea acquaintance of JW.
