QUEEN ANNE'S MANSION. S. W.
June 1st 1877.
I feel so kindly towards you, that I cannot put Miss Emma - so you must fill up the space as you like - [...]
[p. 2] [...] I have nothing to tell you that would interest you .. We go out to many dinners & Eve's - but tho' there is a geat deal of talk, there is nothing to report. I have made the acquaintance of Mr Whistler, the artist about whose paintings George used to rave. He is a very remarkable looking person - dark - eyes & hair - and one white lock, on his forehead - all the family have this - He thinks very highly of his own works ... I always imagine that a truly great genius is never content that his idea is beyond any execution ..
Yr affect old friend
