James Anderson Rose (1819-1890), solicitor [more]. This relates to JW's bankruptcy papers. A petition was filed for his bankruptcy on 7 May 1879 (see #08895) and a settlement agreed before the London Bankruptcy Court on 9 May (#08903).

3.  Whistler ats Low
Robert Low (b. ca 1837), of Robert and J. E. Low, house agents and surveyors [more]. On 20 February, JW wrote to Rose confessing he was unable to pay his debt to Low (JW to J. A. Rose, #08763). Low appears as a creditor in JW's bankruptcy papers (see #11711).
