Charles Augustus ('Owl') Howell (1840? - d.1890), entrepreneur [more].

It is not know if JW was a member of this club. He might have been visiting James Anderson Rose (1819-1890), solicitor [more], whose office was next door at 11, Salisbury Street.

JW worked for about a year at this address, which was the studio of Arthur Murch (fl. 1850-1877, d. before 1891), artist [more].

JW was probably working on the 'Thames Set', eventually published as A Series of Sixteen Etchings of Scenes on the Thames, 1871 (the 'Thames Set') (K.38-44, 46, 52, 66, 68, 71, 74-76, 95) (excat 4) by F. S. Ellis in 1871.
