Identity:
Paul Verlaine married Mathilde Maute (age 16), and they had one son; however, they were divorced whilst Verlaine was in prison for shooting Rimbaud with whom he had homosexual affair. In prison he converted to Catholicism.
Life:
Verlaine was a poet and amateur painter. He is known for some of his portraits, caricatures and silhouettes. The Library of Doucet at the Library of Sainte-Geneviéeve holds a large number of his decorative manuscriopts and sketches
