JW was in correspondence with Mrs Talbot, wife of Colonel Talbot, in the 1890s.

Life:

The Talbots were social acquaintances of JW and Beatrix Whistler in Paris around 1895. JW invited them to attend the Eden v. Whistler trial in March 1895, saying, 'all that is beautiful and distinguished ought to be there!' JW described Colonel Talbot as a man who 'likes a good fight' (#05656).
