James Newman was an artist.
In 1889 Newman was resident at 24 Soho Square, London. He was an associate of the landscape painter Edward William Stott who used his home as a forwarding address [#00631]. He also seems to have known the Canadian artist James Wilson Morrice (1865-1924) as he is mentioned in a note in one of Morrice's sketchbooks dated from c. 1922-23.
