Jan-Zacharie Mazel was a painter, etcher and lithographer. He had a son, A. Mazel.
Mazel became a member of the Felix Meritis Society in Amsterdam in 1810. He was Director of the Royal Picture Gallery in the Mauritshuis, The Hague, from 1841 to 1874. In 1872 he was anxious to acquire etchings by JW for the collection and so his son wrote to JW on his behalf (#04264).
