Léon Augustin L'hermitte was a draughtsman, printmaker, landscape painter, pastellist and illustrator.
A pupil of Lecoq de Boisbaudran, he exhibited at the Salon from 1864.
He was invited but could not send works to the exhibition of the International Society of Sculptors, Painters and Gravers in 1898, during Whistler's Presidency.
