Ariana Wormeley Curtis, née Randolph, was the wife of Daniel Sargent Curtis (1825-1908), owner of the Palazzo Barbaro, Venice. Their son Ralph Warmely Curtis (1854- 1922) was an artist and friend of John Singer Sargent.
The Curtises knew Whistler in Venice 1879-1880. She is referred to in JW's correspondence about 1893.
