TO THE EDITOR OF THE STANDARD.

SIR, -

A paragraph having gone the round of to-day's papers, to the effect that I have "taken all my works from the forthcoming Paris Exhibition[4]," I beg you will allow me, through your columns, to correct this misleading assertion, which can be founded only upon my having transported my work from the American department to the British Section of the Exposition Internationale, where I prefer to be represented.

I am, Sir, your obedient servant,

J. McNEILL WHISTLER.
