The local Chelsea ironmongers were amazingly tolerant of JW's non-payment of their accounts.
Although the document is addressed to 'Westley', this was probably a mis-spelling of 'Whistler', since the document came with JW's bankruptcy papers to James Anderson Rose (1819-1890), solicitor [more].
Written on left in another hand. The legal documents kept by Rose on each case were numbered. JW petitioned to be declared bankrupt in January and was declared 'insolvent' on 6 May 1879.
