The Bankruptcy Act 1869

Before Mr Registrar Hazlitt Sitting as Chief Judge

In the matter of proceedings for liquidation[4] by arrangement or composition by James Abbott McNeill Whistler of The White House Chelsea Embankment in the County of Middlesex Artist

Upon the application of Mr Brough[5] of Counsel for James Waddell the Receiver appointed herein and upon reading the Affidavit of James Abbott McNeill Whistler the above named debtor sworn and filed this day.

1. It is Ordered that Louis Hermann of 60 Great Russell Street Middlesex Picture Dealer shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings upon the Judgment recovered by him against the said debtor in the High Court of Justice Exchequer Division until after the ninth day of June next
2. It is further Ordered that the said Louis Hermann shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings upon the Judgment recovered by him against the said debtor in the High Court of Justice Exchequer Division until after the 9th day of June next.
3. It is further Ordered that James Anderson Rose of 11 Salisbury Street Strand Solicitor shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings upon the Judgment recovered by him against the said debtor in the High Court of Justice Queen's Bench Division until after the 9th day of June next.
4. It is further Ordered that Hargrave Morrison of 78 Cheyne Walk Chelsea Middlesex shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings in the Action brought by him against the said debtor in the High Court of Justice e Common Pleas Division until after the 9th day of June next
5. It is further Ordered that George Tacchi of 18 Goswell Road Middlesex shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings in the action brought by him against the said debtor in the High court of Justice Common Pleas Division until after the 9th day of June next.

It is further ordered that James William Wimsett of Ashburnham Park Nurseries, Kings Road Chelsea shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings in the action brought by him against the said debtor in the High Court of Justice, Queens Bench Division until after the 9th day of June next.
7. It is further ordered that Benjamin Ebenezer Nightingale of Albert Embankment, Surrey shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings in the Action brought by him against the said Debtor in the High Court of Justice, Queens Bench Division until after the 9th day of June next.
8. It is further ordered that Messrs Lewis and Webb of Stoke Newington shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings in the Action brought by them against the said Debtor in the High Court of Justice, Queens Bench Division until after the 9th day of June next.
9. It is further ordered that The North Metropolitan Permanent Benefit Building Society 386 Old Street Middlesex shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings in the Action brought by them against the said Debtor in the High Court of Justice, Queens Bench Division until after the 9th day of June next.
10. It is further ordered that [illegible name and address] Place, Oxford Street shall be restrained from taking any further proceedings in the Action brought by them against the said Debtor in the High Court of Justice, Queens Bench Division until after the 9th day of June next.
11. And it is further ordered that William Achong of 26 Maxwell Road Fulham, Messrs Low, The General Furnishing Company 9 Southhampton Street Strand J. W. Duffield of Queens Gate Works, Kensington Gore Builder and Messrs Hewett & Co. of the Baker Street Bazaar, Baker Street shall be severally restrained from taking any further proceedings in the actions brought by them against the said Debtor in the Brompton County Court Middlesex until after the 9th day of June next.

The said James Abbott McNeill Whistler and James Waddell and each of them by their counsel Solicitor undertaking to abide by any Order the Court may hereafter think fit to make and to damages in case the Court shall be of opinion that the said Creditors or any of them shall have sustained any by reason of this Order which the said James Abbott McNeill Whistler and James Waddell or either of them ought to pay.
