Dear Sir -
When there came, to me, your most charming & gracious invitation to stay with you, as your guest in the College, I was so weakened, by relapse, that I gladly accepted the proposal of my neighbour Mr Walton, to send himself, through [p. 2] Mr Newberry, my gratified sense of this further courtesy, and my sorrow at not being able to accept it -
Clearly it is time, that without longer hoping, I should say definitely, that it is impossible for me to entertain the journey - and so I may not as yet, to my deep disappointment, have the pleasure of
my personally meeting you -
