HENRY GRAVES & CO. [...]

June 24th 1902

To Christopher Head Esq

Dear Sir

The engravers proof of Thomas Carlyle[3] you saw today was printed by Mr. Whistler himself in 1878 in my presence. He went up to Mr Holdgate[4] our printers to show them how he wished it printed.

I remain Yours faithfully

Algernon Graves
