Oxford

4th Aug 1877.

Dear Sir,

Whistler v. Ruskin[3].

I have made enquiries at Corpus Christi College & find that Mr Ruskin is not expected to reside there before next term, about the middle of October, when he may come up to give lectures.

The [porter?] of the College informs me that Mr Ruskin's present address is

Brantwood
Conniston
Windermere -

I therefore [advise?] you to [find?] [six illegible words].

Yours faithfully

John M. Davenport
