Notes:

1.  [April 1879?]
This document probably dates from just after the letter from G. and W. Webb to JW on 31 March 1879 (#12784).

2.  George and William Webb
George Webb (b. ca 1835), of G. and W. Webb. lawyer [more] and William Webb (b. ca 1851), of G. and W. Webb, lawyer [more], who arranged JW's mortgage with the North Metropolitan and Building Society.

3.  James Anderson Rose
James Anderson Rose (1819-1890), solicitor [more].

4.  AD
'216' written in another hand, in a circle at top right of p. 1. Legal documents, including those relating to JW's bankruptcy, were collected and numbered by Rose.

5.  The North Metropolitan & Building Society
They held JW's mortgage on the White House, his new house and studio in Tite Street, and were among his creditors when he was declared 'insolvent' on 6 May 1879. The auction of his belongings was held in the White House on 7 May, and the house itself was sold in 18 September.
