'Webb 10 April
Whistler ats. [N. M. Bldg Socy?] '

Dr Sir

Whistler ats N. M. Bldg Socy[4] -

We have no desire to [put?] Mr Whistler to any expense - but our experience [& we?] have no doubt yours [as well?] is - that he only moves at the instigation of the Sheriffs Officer.-

In the face of yr. notice of appearance we hardly know what to do - we cannot leave the proceedings as they are. -

We will however go to this extent: we will do nothing until after [p. 2] Tuesday next & if a [substantial?] payment be then made - or will [undertake?] to get yr client for the turn
