Dear Mr Graves -
You will [see] from the enclosed how the reputation of the Carlyle[3] is growing apace -
I might who knows even sell it in Dublin[4]! -
In any case will you send it to the address as per enclosed - W. B. Pearsall[5] is the name of the gentleman difficult to make out - but I have since had several other letters from him and Mr Lawless[6] - who tells me that they have again appealed to him begging that I [p. 2] will let them have both my Mother's picture[7] and the Carlyle - So will you send for a van tomorrow if possible as time presses - and the two paintings might go in one case if you think that better -
You see that of course they will pay all expenses and of this I am assured in their several letters -
I shall also send a lot of the little pictures[8] - though they had perhaps better go in a separate case -
Indeed I have half a mind to send the Sarasate[9] too - but of that I am not so sure - we will see -
Did you see in the papers the other day an account of the enthusiasm in Paris when he played at a concert? - They shouted out 'Bravo Espagnol', and the whole audience simply went mad over him! -
Very faith[full]y Yrs
J. McNeill Whistler
