London

20 Feby 1892.

Dear Sir,

Many thanks for yours received this morning.

Cards[2]. We shall prepare a card & send it as requested.

Date. The reason we have written so pressingly about this is because we gave (several months ago) a written undertaking to have an exhibition of pictures in the large room to begin [p. 2] to hang on Monday April 11th & to open on Saturday April 16th. This leaves sufficient time for the Nocturnes which could commence on the 12th or 19th March for three weeks only as suggested[3].

All the other matters mentioned in yours are receiving our best attention & we shall see Mr Alexander[4] & see about the portrait[5] of his daughter. We also write about the 'Music Room[6]' & others.

Yours very truly

[p. 3] P. S.
Mr J. C. Potter[8] offers to lend 4. The Nocturne - a Wave - a Girls portrait & another Nocturne. Shall we accept the two Nocturnes & the Wave & leave the portrait which is not so interesting?
