Dear Mr Thomson -
Will you let one of your clerks send Mr Whistler the names and addresses of the owners of his pictures - He has the [p. 2] names but not all the addresses - Who is it who owns the Valparaiso Nocturne[5]? and where does he live?
There was a small exhibition[6] here a few weeks ago, in which was included a small seapiece[7], about the size of Mr Poole's picture[8].
Can you find out what it was, and how it got [p. 3] here - Mr Whistler cannot understand who it could belong to. We did not see the picture - but the exhibition we believe was got up by a paper called "Le Journal" [-] perhaps you would be good enough to ask Monsieur Joyant[9] - if he knows.
If the man of the Globe[10] gets the story of the [p. 4] Falling Rocket Nocturne in Black and Gold[11] right this time - Mr Whistler hopes you will send him the cutting.
With kind regards
Believe me
Very sincerely
Beatrix Whistler -
