Probably a reference to the 2nd Annual Exhibition, Carnegie Institute, Pittsburgh, 1897. JW exhibited works including Arrangement in Black: Portrait of Señor Pablo de Sarasate (YMSM 315). The jurors for the Carnegie International met in Paris on 15 September 1897.
