Walter Richard Sickert (1860-1942), artist and writer on art [more], wrote to Miss Waller that JW's accusation was a libel (#11338).

She posed intermittently between about 1882 and 1884 for Scherzo in Blue: The Blue Girl (YMSM 226). It was exhibited at 6th Summer Exhibition, Grosvenor Gallery, London, 1882, after which JW continued to work on it right up to 'Notes' - 'Harmonies' - 'Nocturnes', Messrs Dowdeswell, London, 1884. It was never completed and has since disappeared.
