Dear Mr Dowdeswell -
Will you kindly send some one of those you generally employ with a van here tomorrow to take my pictures to the Grosvenor -
I should not trouble you with the matter, only I might not be able to get one immediately myself and of course I have been so engulphed [sic] in my painting that I have taken no steps and so come to you in my trouble - Do this for me, and greatly [p. 2] oblige
J McN Whistler
It must be a big van you know to take those full length portraits.
Perhaps it had better be here at about one or two o'clock -
13. Tite Street
Monday. April the 14.
Did I give you the card the other day? for the life of me I cannot lay my hand upon it tonight or I would send it by post - however I have put it away - (too carefully) - and will doubtless send it back to you with the van -
1. 14 April
Dated by address; also, 14 April fell on a Monday in 1884.
