33. Rue de Tournon. Paris -

Dear Sir -

Have you no further details to give me? -

I wish you would write also any news you may have a propos of portraits? - You know we like your letters -

Private[4]!

Americans must be all over the place! but I can't help in the discovery of Mr. Waggamann[5]!

I wanted to send the "Ocean[6]" on to Münich[7] - but I hear that Mr. Matherson[8] - I don't remember well his name - wants it back - so he had better have it - as I want him to lend it next year for Chicago[9] - & I have written to Joyant[10] to send it back to you - I must send you, for your enjoyment, copy of [p. 2] my correspondence with Mr Beck[11]!!! Secretary - I think you deserve it - though you are so reticent yourself! -

Also ask Mr Huish[12] to show you copy of an open letter I wrote to the P. O. authorities[13]! I think you will be pleased! -

Now is it all settled with Mr. Webb[14] about the Album? - And what further about the Peacock room[15]? - I am longing to see the new proofs -

Don't forget to tell me who Joyant[16] sold the yacht picture[17] to - and the price & the rest of it -

Are you coming over again? The studio[18] now is in a lovely condition -

Very faithfully Yrs

J. McN Whistler

I am going to tackle the people who have refused to pay for cleaning. etc - and am glad to have Mr. Leathart's[19] letters - Send me any all correspondence of the kind with any of them -

Also all the frames that these people have refused had better be sent through your house to me -

By the way did you send photographs of "La Dame au Brodequin Jaune[20]"? and have you had any answer?
