Dear Sir -

I am not sure that a letter[4] I wrote to you the other day was ever posted. At the risk therefore of seeming impatient, and I know that with your change of quarters you must be very busy just now, I venture to ask if you sent on a package of pastels[5], and whether you despatched them to me direct, or to your House on the Boulevards - In either [p. 2] case I have not received them and am a little anxious concerning them -

I said in my note which may not have been sent, that I am sure the reproductions will turn out all right, and that I would have no further anxiety about them - I also meant to thank you for all the trouble you have taken in this as you do in all my affairs - and that I am sorry to have given so much bother -

Is your new place very swell? - or rather your new places - Tell me something about them - together with any other news - when you write

Very sincerely

J McN. Whistler

Are you not coming over to Paris?
