Mon cher Duret -

Translation:
My dear Duret -
Where did you get the Nocturne "Battersea Grey & Gold" from?
Tell me the story - Meanwhile I prefer not to send it to Petit this time - because I am making my own arrangements from here myself -
Kindly [p. 2] tell them on my behalf that I am sending a small number of things - amongst others some etchings, and that in a few days from now they will have some news -
Yours as ever
But in infernal haste
[butterfly signature]
Suffolk St / an enormous success! - I persuaded the Prince and Princess of Wales to come!
