[...] Curiously enough when I received your note, I was on the point of writing to ask him kindly to lend the Portrait in Pink for a most important International Exhibition in Brussels, in which I have been chosen as a representative of English Painting - and your pictures would be, above all others, delighted in Abroad - The one in black velvet, by the way, was, I may tell you, an immense success in Paris -
If I may have the pink picture, and I trust that Sir Henry will let these works be seen abroad where they are understood and appreciated, will you kindly send me a line [p. 2] here,
that enclosing an order to remove the picture from Park Lane that I may send it on at once, for there is no time to be lost -
The picture would be insured for a thousand. -

Meux to JW, 27 April , #04066).
