Dear Mrs. Pennell -

What is your wonderful system of police? and how could you know that I had called when I saw no one? ! -

Of course I shall be delighted to come on Thursday if this terrible weather does not make it impossible!

I cannot expect [p. 2] my doctor to forgive me if I take cold again!! -

and I cannot propose to spoil your dinner table by any such uncertainty - Still?

I did not see the articles in the "Sun^[4]" of Sunday! -

and think it would be nice of you to tell me what it was all about? -

Someone told me that there is an article in the Fortnightly Review - about the International^[5] handwritten by D S M^[6] -

Is this so? - -

Dear Mrs. Pennell do forgive me - I am so tired after my day's work that this must go in its present incoherent condition! -
