J. McN. Whistler Esq.

Dear Sir,

There is an etching called the "Swan and the Iris[3]" attributed to you, which we have bought. It is a delicate dry point. It is curious that we have not met with it before. Can you give us information regarding it, when it was made, if you printed any impressions yourself &c.? We enclose a clipping from a paper which is of interest to us. If the exhibition[4] can be made before Summer, that is if there is to be one, can we not have it at the same time? This, for various reasons, would be very [p. 2] desirable, and would be beneficial, from a financial point of view, to you. If you will kindly give us your views on this subject, you will much oblige,

Yours respectfully,

H. Wunderlich Co.
